[Kodi sends Suzy a text at midnight on Saturday morning: "Come outside?" If she opens the door, Kodi's waiting in the common room to press her against the wall for the first of eighteen kisses (nineteen, if you count the one for good luck) and to hand off a small package — with instructions not to open it until she's gone.
If Suzy doesn't open her door, in the morning the package is hanging on its handle.
The package is a bright yellow gift bag. There's a card on top, and beneath, the gift is folded inside pink tissue paper: a note wrapped around a small embroidered pendant.]
