NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY

HOW THIS WORKS

• Everyone is back on campus tonight, and the Junior Wands aren't going to let that prevent them from celebrating the new year.


• Everyone is welcome in the Wands common room at 10:00 PM for a last minute party.


• There's some alcohol available if you ask around, if you want to ring in the new year with a drink.


• At the stoke of midnight, the room erupts in cheers and kisses. Emma pops a bottle of champagne, and the cork hits Liam in the face. Oops!


• If your character's not at the party, you can still post scenes here! Just note in the header they're somewhere else on campus.

"Well also it's good luck if you kiss someone cute." Hadlee obviously made this up, but she's going to keep pushing it like it's true. She takes another drink, feeling more sullen by the minute.

"And I'm cuter than Merry."

While Dallas is almost certain that's not true, he doesn't argue. What's good luck and what's not isn't really the point anymore and he sighs tightly. "...You're...both cute," he returns, knowing that this isn't what Hadlee wants to hear but not quite willing to indirectly put down Merry just to avoid his friend's ire. She's the one being weird about this.

This is definitely not what Hadlee wants to hear, as evidenced by the fact that she bites her lip hard. "But I'm cuter," she argues, and there's something in her voice that almost sounds hurt. She hates it, so she takes a long drink from her cup. "Whatever, I'm not going to give you a good luck kiss. You can go get a less lucky kiss from your favorite dance partner Merry."

For a moment, all Dallas can do is stare at Hadlee, dumbfounded. "Favorite dance partner?"

Hadlee & Dallas

"You heard me."

Hadlee feels flustered and upset now, her cheeks hot. She knows this conversation is stupid, and that she's being unreasonable, but she's not going to apologize. Not right now, anyway. She's just going to find someone to lavish her with positive attention.

She turns to go, quickly saying, "I hope you're cursed next year!" This is a total lie, but it feels like it gives her the upper hand somehow.

That Hadlee could've gotten this idea in her head or that this would even matter to her had never occurred to Dallas. He begins to protest but the girl is already turning away and hurrying off into the crowd, having delivered her parting shot. He watches her go, exhaling a frustrated sigh.

Maybe Shiloh has the right idea after all. Girls are crazy.
