SNOWBALL FIGHT
While the snow has finally stopped falling by Sunday morning, the campus is still all but buried in white powder and the cold ensures that it won't be going anywhere for a while. Welcome to winter, Finchwood Academy! Apparently inspired, Sabrina Lane organizes an interhouse snowball fight and spreads the word around campus, challenging inviting all of her fellow-students (and a few staff members) to come out and test their mettle have some fun!
Everyone meets at noon in the undeveloped field behind the classroom building and the teams are given one hour to build their forts, prepare their artillery (snowballs only!), and plant their flags. Sabrina then outlines the rules. Every player must wear a bright strip of cloth somewhere on their person to identify their house affiliation. Each fort must prominently display their house's flag, which the other players will attempt to steal and get back to their fort to claim victory. When hit by a snowball, players must freeze and wait to be unfrozen by a teammate. No cheating! Headshots count for double, Irene adds, before hitting [Character A] right in the face. She doesn't look like she feels bad at all and nobody seems interested in arguing with her.
Ready to play, the teams hurry back to their forts and wait for the signal.
» SWORD FORT
» CUP FORT
» WAND FORT
» COIN FORT
» BATTLEFIELD: Between the snow forts is open ground with no cover. Good luck out there!
» SIDELINES: While there's no specific cutoff to the field, those that want to observe can take their chances. Hopefully they won't catch a stray snowball! Anyone that needs a break can also find hot chocolate, tea, and coffee waiting in cafeteria!

HOW THIS WORKS
- Each character has five turns for an RNG roll between 1 - 5. They may use a turn to bolster their house's defenses or attack another character.
- To bolster defenses, post to your house's fort. The points rolled will be added to the house's score. Unless otherwise specified, the mods will roll one turn at a time.
- To attack, post your character to the Battleground (making them available for retaliation!) and comment on the character you want to attack. The points rolled will be subtracted from the other house's score.
While characters will undoubtedly be throwing more snowballs at more people in-game, these posts will contribute to the overall scores and guarantee your character a hit! Unless otherwise specified, the mods will roll one turn at a time. Getting hit means that your character has to stay where they are until a teammate comes to their rescue and tags them back into the game. While the mods will not control this aspect of the game at all, feel free to play this out as desired.
With Irene's encouragement, some students will attempt a headshot. This will be controlled by RNG, but if your character gets one, we'll double their roll! - All houses start with 15 points. Anyone who reduces a house to negative points has stolen their flag. Anyone who gets their house back to positive points has stolen the flag back.
- Turns will be rolled and used up in the order they're posted. If it appears that the mods have messed up the order, just let us know! Dreamwidth emails can be finicky but we'll do our best to keep things straight!
- If you don't want to use up a turn, make an OOC note so the mods know not to roll for you.
- Sabrina managed to convince Ms. Voss, Ms. Kowalcyzk, Irene, and Iason to take part too! In an effort to be fair(ish), she assigned one to each team. But some contribute more than others...
Having Ms. Voss on their team gives the Swords a bonus of 10 points!
Having Irene on their team gives the Cups a bonus of 20 points!
Having Iason on their team gives the Wands a bonus of 5 points!
Having Ms. Kowalcyzk on their team gives the Coins a bonus of 15 points!

Neal & Atticus
Date: 2018-12-03 03:28 am (UTC)When Neal finally continues, there's something that might be mistaken for shyness that creeps into his voice. "And... I could help you."
Neal & Atticus

Date: 2018-12-03 04:17 am (UTC)"And not just me. Obviously." Although he does like to imagine that he could single-handedly facilitate Atticus' recovery, even Neal can see that's far-fetched. It's too cinematic to be real, but that's probably why he likes it. "You have a lot of people who'd love to help you keep on track and stop you from sneaking off," he teases, grinning like it's a game and not a dangerous habit.

Neal & Atticus
Date: 2018-12-03 04:44 pm (UTC)He'd been well-intentioned.
He should just let Atticus do what he wants. And he would, really, if he weren't on his squad. "Can I say something as your leader for a second?"

Date: 2018-12-03 08:49 pm (UTC)"The work we do in the Shadow World is physically strenuous." He lays out the fact cooly, knowing Atticus can anticipate the rest of the message. "You and Pearl might be endangering yourselves, or the squad, by continuing to do this. I don't want to... order you to quit because I'm not trying to run anyone's personal life, but that's only because it hasn't become a problem yet."
Neal & Atticus
Date: 2018-12-03 09:30 pm (UTC)"Let me know when it's a problem, then," he says, with an air of finality in his tone. He doesn't move to leave, though. He was here first. Neal can go, if he wants to.
