Nov. 17th, 2018 10:31 pmgaydhdI was maybe having some trouble 'relaxing and unwinding' for tomorrow and fell into a Wikipedia hole. But, whatever, that's fine.
So there's this thing. It's a movie, this thing. It's generally regarded as awful and looking at it from the perspective of today's ideas on proper gender roles and attitudes toward casual sexual harassment, it's even MORE awful. I'm not going to try and cover for it here. But, for argument's sake, let's say that you discovered this thing in your grandmother's linen closet and it was literally the one good thing the woman gave you that she didn't actually give you because, technically, you stole the VHS from her home. Whatever.
Look, okay, you know how sometimes you've just watched a thing like 80 MILLION times and you know everything about it because you've looked at it so much that you maybe wore out several VHS tapes of it and then broke two DVDs and your collective parental units were super mad that you couldn't just want to watch Little Mermaid like normal children who's parents didn't have to scour yard sales for copies of this trash?
This thing is 'Gidget' - and it's fucking awful. But. It's very important to know that James Darren's red hoodie was a SIGNIFICANT part of my development as a human being and I have very little regret about it.
