The moment they've parted, Scout very nearly apologizes and tries to pull away, but Flint's looking at him, and he's still a little dizzy. He's wondering silently how much of a mistake this was when the other boy's hand moves to rest on his cheek, and then, luckily, most thoughts fly out of his head. That can be a problem for future, more sober Scout - right now he presses forward again to meet Flint.
