"And champagne, do we get champagne?" As if sensing that she legally cannot say no, Lyle presses a little forward. He won't make her drink it or anything. But he likes these places where they get to say whatever they want. They can have whatever they dream up. He's certain he hasn't taken full advantage of that yet.

"If we stay at his school and fight his monsters all the time," Lyle says, his smile going gentle when he sees hers going wide, "then I think we at least deserve a place to skate where we won't get quite so many trips from the sidewalk, don't you?"
