THE LITTLE BAD

Irene knows that many of the students are itching to take down The Big Bad, but, really kids? You're not strong enough for that just yet. Still, it's the giving time of year, so instead she organizes for an adventure a little more on their level... The Little Bad. While obviously not as scary as her precious pet, this Shadow is nothing to sneeze at.

This voluntary session takes place in The Velvet Room, and is being held in the maze that students may recall from when they first met The Big Bad, though this time it's just a simple spiral inwards. Regular squads will go in first (if all of their members are participating and want to run the course), but afterwards Irene will let student-organized squads try their luck. They'll make their way in, fight a few smaller warm up, Shadows, and then they'll face off with The Little Bad in the center.

HOW THIS WORKS:

• This is voluntary training, so Irene isn't going to try to bully anyone into it. Your characters either need to want to be here, or have some friends/squadmates who have heckled them into it.
  
• It's assumed that each character went with their regular squad if they're all present, and you can have each of your characters roll with a student-built squad once. If you don't have enough numbers for a full squad, it's easy enough to pad with NPCs, so don't worry about that ♥
  
• Please only post an attempt with your character-made squad; we're not rolling for normal squads
  
• Student-made squads are five fighters and one Support (an actual Support character). They also require that one character be named as the leader (though they don't normally need to be a leader).
  
• Based on how a squad rolls as a whole, characters will receive small XP bonus on top of their monthly rolls
  
• Please respond by Tuesday, November 27th 10PM CST to be included in your team's roll

Eli & Noah

"Ah!" Eli says like he just noticed a spider on his arm. Noah's proximity isn't unwelcome, which is frankly the worst thing in the world right now. Eli can lean away, but it doesn't stop his stupid secret thoughts. So he takes in a sharp breath and gathers himself. Even then, he stares blankly at Noah for far too long.

"What." Okay, bad response. "No?" Better. "I have a... I've—no." Acceptable.

Noah drops his elbow on the armrest and leans in towards Eli, just because he can.

"But we need someone. Desperately." His smile is warm and friendly and not at all desperate. He didn't expect Eli to agree, and he doesn't expect Eli to change his mind now, but Noah will always push when he's told no. "And you, my dear, are a shining star among Supports. Who better to ask?"

Eli & Noah

Eli inches away, but reluctantly. "I... uh. I mean." Desperately. Eli wishes Noah wanted him desperately, but he didn't and doesn't. Eli's only interesting when he says no.

And so he says: "No."

Noah's smile doesn't change, but his eyebrows do raise a little—not discouraged, just curious. "Now don't be so modest. You'd be a brilliant asset to any team."

Eli & Noah

Eli tears his eyes away from Noah. The wall's not nearly as interesting. "Someone else already asked me."

Eli & Noah

Noah sighs, too loud and dramatic to seem sincere. "Alas. If we're all killed by Irene's latest creation, I'll know it was because someone ousted us sexy juniors in your affections."

Eli & Noah

"I don't really, uh, know any of you guys so." Eli scoots away a little, his chair squeaking on the floor. He stares determinedly at anything except Noah. "And anyway it's not about affections. My friends asked me. Like, my actual friends. Not some guy I dated who got... bored of me."

Eli & Noah

Noah straightens in his chair, which has the added benefit of giving Eli space. But Noah's gaze is steady on Eli's face, even though Eli hasn't looked at him at all in the past minute.

"Does that have to mean that we can't be friends?"

It's a question he's asked before, in a few different forms. He already knows the answer, but like a wound that's just started to scab, Noah can't stop picking at it.
